Can you use images from Atlases in XVM

Does anyone know if there is a way to use images in the battleatlas for icons/images?  The matching XML files defines the name an location within the png file.  Seems like there should be a routine to return the image.

I image some enterprising person will write an external py routine that can be called using the macro-like support.  Hmmmmm.........
