Why the authentification ?

I want to know why now we need an authentification on the XVM official server ?

Statistics are public, and except for the quantity of gold, credit and status of the account, its not necessary.

First of all, we are promise that XVM will always be free.

This changes give us many benefits. We will have exact MAU (Monthly Active Users), because ppl who want to see statistics will make their choice consciously. In present time we have statistics disabled in the config by default, but many ppl use 3rd party modpacks that have it enabled. This users even don't know that they are using XVM, and they believe that modpack author is the author of all mods.

Also this will decrease our server load, because not all ppl who use modpacks wants to enable stats.

And this will give us many other benefits in future, because we will be able to propose personal services (that can be paid). We have no plans for paid services for now, but this platform allow us to provide them.

The mod can read stat of users without the login on the Xvm website.

Statistics exist forall users; with login or without ... Its just a bad justification.

Money, Ads, ok ...

 

Count people is a bad justification too, because the mod can count exactly (with nickname who use the mod). And XVM can forbid utilisation in modpack.
