XC file edits not recognized by XVM

Recommended Posts

User OS: Windows 8.1

WoT version: 0.9.8

XVM version: nightly build 4403

XC editor: XCPad or Notepad++

XVM default install into WoT directory. Changes to .XC files in default directory not recognized (changes made *before* starting WoT).

For example:

carousel.xc (row change to 4) not seen

login: autologin option not seen

hotkeys: minimap zoom enabled not seen

etc...

XVM is listed as active and I do see player stats during battle. However, no XC file changes are recognized.

Help would be appreciated...

please make sure you have xvm.xc file and not xvm.xc.sample

if it does not help, attach logs and config

Thank you for the quick response.  My understanding was that the 'default' directory was always chosen if no xvm.xc file existed.  Is this not correct?  Regardless, my xvm.xc points to my folder with my own @XVM.XC and a few custom XC files, and points to the rest in the default directory.

Anyway, after restarting a few times, it is now suddenly working...again.  This exact same thing happens after each new update (from 0.9.5 -> 0.9.8).  I don't understand why and I haven't changed my custom xc files or location...... so strange.

So, guess my problem is resolved (until the next update.... ;) ).

Regarding the log files, xvm.log is blank, and python.log is here:

My understanding was that the 'default' directory was always chosen if no xvm.xc file existed.  Is this not correct?

it's wrong. in order to use any directory (including directory with name 'default') there should exist file xvm.xc that appoints to that directory. otherwise the XVM uses inner config (not directory with name 'default').

xvm.log in regular conditions is filled when you close the game, and erased once you start a game.

Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate the rapid response in this forum, and the mod as well.

Having the same issue.  XVM is ignoring the xvm.xc file completely, changing it does nothing.  Renaming my custom folder to default does nothing.  Basically it's no longer looking for the file for some reason and just running it's inner config no matter what.

Edit: Did the proper placement of xvm.xc get changed or something?  It feels like that's the issue, or maybe XVM just isn't checking for it at all for some reason.

Okay, I think I figured it out by downloading Aslain's modpack.

For Aslain his xvm.xc points to:

${"\u0041slain/@xvm.xc":"."}

For a folder named:

"Aslain"

For some reason, xvm is using Unicode for the first letter (or maybe caps).

A really strange "bug" but you can work around it once you know what is causing it.

Hello, from version 0.9.8 my XVM.xc config suddenly stop working. I've made clean install of WoT yesterday, downloaded latest XVM, and then I inserted my config that I am using for more than a year (with some changes over the xvm updates). Logged into the game and there is no XVM feature, only some random star wars text around my garage. (In a galaxy far far away..... )

OS: Win 8.1 fully updated

xvm.log

python.log

xvm.xc

Sory Helkar for waiting so long here are my files what i need to do please.

as we can see in xvm.log:

JSONxLoaderException: ("Bad pair: <value> expected, got 'truee' at line #9", u'res_mods/configs/xvm\\default\\markers.xc')

@embed

please next time attach the files and not put their text.

also, your config seems not working at latest release, but it does work on latest nightly build:

http://nightly.modxvm.com/

Downloaded nightly build, and it really does work fine, strange enough that I've tried similar XVM.xc config from QuickyBaby and it worked fine even with stable build. Anyway thx for the advice. Edited last post to your pleasure Helkar.
