XVM crashing Wot

Recommended Posts

After every battle, whether the battle ends with me alive or I exit to the garage, as soon as I start to go back to the garage WoT terminates and I am on my desktop.  I noticed several other people have this problem on the WoT NA forum, and the common cause for all seems to be having XVM installed.  As soon as I removed XVM WoT works fine.

latest XVM 5.0.1-test2

Windows Vista home premium 32 bit

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600

3 GB RAM

GeForce 8800GTX

I have the same problem. It is not all the time but it does happens after the battle ends and when the client starts to save the replay and stats that the client crashes. I removed XVM and the client worked fine.

- upgrade to windows 7

- try to remove all files from the xvm/mods, except xvm.swf

there seems to also be a memory leak in the game client that is excentuated by the use of xvm, technically this means it isnt really XVM that is the culprit, moreso that it is the game client causing it, but xvm makes the ram usage more predominate. especially since your listed ram is on the low end of 3gb. the game eats a HUGE chunk of that without xvm ever installed.

Found this on the NA forum:

Do you have xvm installed.....I did...5.0.1_test.2...caused the problem.

Go to res_mods/0.8.9/gui/flash folder.

Find file named Application.swf   and   rename it to Application_backup.swf    then restart game....all should be well.

:)

I lose the stats but keep the map.  Better than nothing.
