Crew icon & name

Does anyone know how to change the crew icon and the name of a unique crew member ?
I have no idea where to find the images of unique crew members, or how to replace them.

Changing names is also easy. Wargaming uses GNU's gettext for translations in game.
They are located on: <WoT>/res/text/lc_messages/
The files you need are *_tankman.po, where * - is vehicle nation you need.
For example we will use germany_tankman.po.
First step is to convert .po file to .mo to make human readable/editable. With installed gettext use next command:

msgunfmt germany_tankman.mo -o germany_tankman.po

Second step - edit values you need, use Notepad++ and search through the .po file to find what you need.

Third step - convert .po back to .mo:

msgfmt germany_tankman.po -o germany_tankman.mo

Last step is to move this file that we got from msgfmt to path <WoT>/res_mods/<current_patch_folder>/text/lc_messages/

You will need to do this every patch/micropatch that WG release. And every language change. Otherwise you get missing strings sometimes or mix of two languages.

P.S. You even don't need to install gettext to do this. Use online .mo to .po converters and back

I can now change the icons and names of crew members, thanks for the help.

Hey, I changed the icons of other crew members as well using the same technique, and it worked.
However, for some crew members this doesn't seem to work, such as ny21_girl_1
does_not_work.wotmodworks.wotmod
See files for working mod (works.wotmod) and non-working mod (does_not_work.wotmod).
Do you have any idea why it doesn't work for some crew members ?

Важно: при добавлении иконки - метод сжатия "Без сжатия"

@Hasol you should create zips as wotmod ONLY in Store compression, so as-is compression. WoT doesn't support other compression and will throw out on launch
