How to write WoT mods?

Recommended Posts

I am desperate... I have been looking around how it's done, but can't seem to find any information on how to write mods.

I have seen shockwave, actionscript and python files lying around in the mod folders. But no details on how to create my own. Does anyone here know more about this topic? What software do I need to do compile/test runs?

I am an experienced software developer with around 15 years of experience on my shoulders :) So I know what kind of task awaits me... But without a development environment to work on I am a bit lost :(

Also, what mods would you suggest to look into as examples? I am - for now - looking for something to add information on the mini-map. I assume locastan's HD maps would be a good starting point?

I assume I need Flash for the shockwave/AS files?! Or can I just write them in good-old vim and compile them using the CLI?... which would be awesome!

It's very simple (Five simple steps).

1. Learn python languige

2. Learn Action Script 3.0

3. Learn Flash

4. Learn WoT Developer Documentation

5. Make wonderful new mods.

Thanks for the tip. I will try. Let's hope the translation is understandable :-D

If anything will be unclear, do not hesitate to ask questions in English. Users on this forum usually friendly and ready to help (if they can).
